DEFED Smart Station

The LifeSmart DEFED Smart Station is the control centre of the DEFED security range, collecting, processing and reporting every signal from connected sensors, sirens and key fobs. It supports six radio protocols - CoSS, ZigBee, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, BLE and GSM - which lets one gateway manage a mixed set of LifeSmart security devices without extra bridges.

In UAE villas and apartments the Smart Station is typically installed centrally, in a store room, hallway cupboard or beside the main distribution board, from where its CoSS radio reaches DEFED door and window sensors, motion sensors and the indoor siren throughout the property. Three power options - DC 12V, PoE, or backup battery - keep the alarm system reporting even if mains power or the network drops, which matters during the summer grid load on UAE and Oman networks.

Because it is built specifically for security rather than as a general smart-home hub, the Smart Station pairs naturally with the rest of the DEFED kit: door/window sensors, motion sensor, key fob and indoor siren, and it also bridges into the wider LifeSmart ecosystem for scene automation when a fire, gas or water alarm needs to trigger lighting or an HVAC shutdown elsewhere in the home.
