Overview
The LifeSmart RS485 Converter bridges RS485-protocol devices - commonly smart water and electricity meters, and some HVAC equipment - into the LifeSmart ecosystem over CoSS, giving a consultant a way to bring energy monitoring and third-party industrial-protocol devices under the same app used for lighting, curtains and climate.
This is a common component in UAE and Oman residential towers and villa communities where the property management wants centralised, real-time insight into water and electricity usage per unit. Connected through the LifeSmart platform, meter readings can feed into a building's energy dashboard alongside HVAC control.
It is a small unit, 83.6 x 47.0 x 22.3mm, powered from either AC 100-240V or DC 12V, with a set of AD+/BD-/GND/DC+ terminals plus a 5V output for the connected RS485 device, and it communicates back to the LifeSmart gateway over CoSS at up to 200m in open field.
